This mound, with its perpendicular
rhythm of hedges of hornbeam and osmanthus and
flights of stairs only contains plants that produce
white flowers or that have silver-grey foliage. It
was deliberately designed along very strict lines in
order to underline even more clearly the Cistercian
purity of this part of the garden. In May, smell the
Viburnum carlesii.
Go down over the large lawn along the flowerbed
until the second set of steps. Then return along the
path with the "Mount Fuji" cherry trees.
