Do not look for "bizarretum"
in the dictionary as this word was invented for
our special needs. This heading includes plant
curiosities, with twisted branches or contorted
leaves etc. in a word: "bizarre".
Beautiful or ugly, there is always a story to
tell. The Twisted Beech is also known as the
"Faux de Verzy" which is in part of
the forest near Reims.
Even in the Middle Ages this curiosity was
talked about. Scientists are still not able to
explain such a mutation (radioactivity ? virus
?).
Mount the slope crossing the meadow which Gilles
Clément calls 'The moving gardens'.
